Plot
Newly married John and his wife Jenny were both animal lovers, and they decided to buy a dog for their home, prior to having children. The dog they acquired as a puppy (named Marley after singer Bob Marley)rapidly grew into a strong adult, but despite their efforts at dog training (he was kicked out of his first dog obedience school by the instructor, who John Grogan called Ms. Dominatrix), he mainly did not accept the authority and directions of his owners. At times Marley used his great strength to destroy property, and tended to chew through doors, strongly built dog crates and even basement walls and doors, especially when impelled by his lifelong phobia of thunderstorms. At other times he dragged people and furniture around when he wished to socialize with other dogs or explore scents.
Marley stayed with his family as they moved from their original home to Boca Raton and up to Pennsylvania, and as they had their three children. On several occasions he showed deep empathy and a more serious side, comforting his mistress after a miscarriage, and protecting the victim and his owner when a neighbor was assaulted. Nearly rehoused during postpartum depression, he was allowed to stay and became a beloved companion of the children as they grew.
Eventually, Marley was unavoidably put to sleep following a recurrence of bloat (a nearly fatal condition requiring major surgery with unpredictable results) at age 13, when he was already seriously weakened from old age. Before Marley slipped away, John told him something no one had ever told him: "You are a great dog". Marley was deeply mourned by the entire family, especially by the author and his wife, who saw in him a role model and mentor of unconditional love, devotion and the art of enjoying and living life to the full. In the epilogue, the author describes how the following summer, his wife finds by chance an advert for a dog that "could have been his identical twin" in both looks and high energy behavior, and ends the book on a hanging note as the couple reflect on the gap in their lives and decide to go and see the new possible addition to their home.

Not too bad altogether. The cgi is good. Middle of the road edginess. The Choode character is basically Duckman with a bit more of a spine. Even the voice sounds the same. They have just started showing the first season here in Canada and they've already trotted out the dark clowns in just about every episode. Gershon's voice over is improving as time goes by. I hate Stuttering John and if the ship undergoes a voice modulation, that would be fine with me.There's a decided lack of imagination being exhibited here but it doesn't stop it from being entertaining in a sophomoric way. Doesn't move very far outside its orbit on any occasion. They could really do something with this if they stepped outside the box a little, but it stands on its own for entertainment value as it is.

As it turns out, this is actually the method to the shoot of the show: edited together from three concerts in each of the areas listed, Rock goes through his material and sometimes a bit is inter-cut within an actual sentence (for example, Rock says the point of view from London, then New York, and maybe South Africa here and there). This technique is a little jarring, but only for a short while. Once it becomes part of the actual gig filmed, it's a successfully unique presentation by way of a special that tries something different.

Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When Frank reports to his superiors, he finds that there are some people like the agent in charge of protecting the President and the Chief of Staff, who think that Frank is letting his failure to protect Kennedy cloud his judgement. But as Frank chases him down, he discovers that he is not dealing with a nut but with a well organized individual.

Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski, a racist Korean War veteran. Kowalski has two objects important to him: the 1972 Gran Torino and his M-1 rifle from the Korean War. Eastwood described the character's relationship with the objects, "He worked on the line in the Ford plant and retired and had this one car he bought himself. It's sort of a symbol of his days with the Ford plant. The M-1 is sort of a symbol of his days in the military... He's clinging to the memory of the war. You'll find out when you see it, some of (the memories) are not as pleasant as others. That helps make him even tougher to get along with."Of the character, Eastwood said, "He's one of these guys who finds it very hard to accept change... [and that the film] just shows how his life goes and how he gets involved with the Hmong people who are living next door."Eastwood's starring role was his first since Million Dollar Baby in 2004.
Bee Vang plays Tao, a studious Hmong teenager who gets caught trying to steal Kowalski's 1972 Gran Torino. The part is Vang's first acting role.The character is described as "the neighborhood wimp", and the large height difference between Tao and Kowalski was a deliberate echo of the mentor relationship Kowalski has to the character. Vang said, "Tao is literally 'looking up' to [him]".
Ahney Her plays Sue, Tao's bossy older sister. Sue serves as Kowalski's guide into her family.
Michael Kurowski plays Josh Kowalski, Walt's oldest grandson.
Gran Torino also features Brooke Chia Thao as Tao’s mother, and Chee Thao as Tao's widowed grandmother. The five gang members are made up of Sonny Vue as the head of the gang, "Smokie"; Doua Moua as Fong (aka "Spider"), Tao and Sue’s older cousin; Jerry Lee, Elvis Thao and Lee Mong Vang.The film features a leading cast made up almost entirely of Hmong actors, unprecedented for a mainstream American film. Open casting calls for Hmong actors were held in Hmong communities in Saint Paul, Fresno and Detroit. Seven Pounds is based on a script written by Grant Nieporte under Columbia Pictures. In June 2006, actor Will Smith joined the studio to star in the planned film and to serve as one of its producers.In September 2007, director Gabriele Muccino, who worked with Smith on The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), was attached to direct Seven Pounds, bringing along his creative team from the 2006 film.Smith was joined by Rosario Dawson and Woody Harrelson the following December to star in Seven Pounds. Filming began in February 2008.

When Blondie and Tuco comes across a horse carriage loaded with dead bodies, they soon learn from the only survivor (Bill Carson) that he and a few other men have buried a stash of gold in a cemetery. Unfortunately Carson dies and Tuco only finds out the name of the cemetery, while Blondie finds out the name on the grave. Now the two must keep each other alive in order to find the gold. Angel Eyes (who had been looking for Bill Carson) discovers that Tuco and Blondie meet with Carson and knows they know the location of the gold. All he needs is for the two to lead him to it. Now The Good, The Bad and The Ugly must all battle it out to get their hands on $200,000 worth of gold.

Frank Serpico is a young, inexperienced cop who starts out on patrol. Later, he starts to work as an undercover cop who busts all sorts of criminals, but mostly drug dealers and pushers. Since Serpico is a young man living in the 70's, he lives as one. His image, based on how others look on him, shows him as just a 'hippie' and the criminals he busts have no idea he is really an undercover officer. Everything is working out well, except the money situation. Serpico refuses to accept money, as the other officers do. He feels this isn't right, and wants to expose the situation. Who he thought were his friends now turn into his enemies when Serpico takes the stand on a grand jury investigation. He continues to work undercover, and his life is placed into jeopardy at the hands of his colleagues.
